Int’l survey ranks Cebu City top Asian outsourcing city

A key regional survey from Tholons ranked Cebu City as Asia’s top outsourcing city, followed by the Chinese cities of Shanghai and Beijing.

Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam and Krakow in Poland remained in fourth and fifth places from the previous survey.

Data from the global outsourcing advisory firm revealed three other Philippine cities were included in the top 18 Asian outsourcing cities: Pasig, Quezon City and Mandaluyong. Continue reading

Tourism credited for Cebu-Crimea sisterhood

The Autonomous Republic of Crimea in Ukraine picked Cebu Province for its sisterhood agreement in the Philippines because its officials wanted to learn from Cebu’s tourism program.

Vladimir Degtyarev, head of the office of interregional cooperation and international organizations, said they have seen how Cebu “drafted a dynamic program” in tourism aside, as well as its efforts in trade and preserving the cultural heritage. Continue reading

St. Petersburg to promote Cebu as tourism spot

THE Russian provincial government of St. Petersburg will promote Cebu as a tourist destination, announced St. Petersburg vice governor Igor Metelsky last Thursday, during his keynote speech in the opening of the 2nd Philippine-Russian Business Forum and Exhibition held at the Cebu International Convention Center (CICC) in Mandaue City.
“We are ready to promote Cebu as a tourist destination in St. Petersburg,” said Metelsky in Russian.
